The variant set declaration is used to specify a sub-set of Author-it variants used to generate relevant publications. A sub-set is declared because some variant values may not be used in the final publication.

Initial variant set:
Variant Criteria Values
Company google, facebook, atlassian
Version v1, v2, v3, v4, v5
SYS_LOCALE en, fr, es
Variant sub-set:
Variant Criteria Values
Company google, facebook
Version v1, v2, v3
SYS_LOCALE en, fr
Example of a variant declaration in the publication_conf.xml file

This part describes combinations for the default behavior. Combinations are extracted according to the Cartesian Product of declared variants values.

In this case:

A = {google, facebook} X {v1, v2, v3} X {en, fr}

A = {
(google, v1, en) (goole, v1, fr) (google, v2, fr) (google, v2, en) (google, v3, fr) (google, v3, en)
(facebook, v1, en) (facebook, v1, fr) (facebook, v2, fr) (facebook, v2, en) (facebook, v3, fr) (facebook, v3, en)
}
