Fluid Topics proposes a way to authenticate on-the-fly with username and password credentials when sending a request.

It is based on Basic Access Authentication except that it does not use the same HTTP header name. Fluid Topics uses a prefixed version of the header: FT-Authorization.

The authentication must be encoded in base 64.

The following header enables to authenticate as Aladdin / open sesame.

FT-Authorization: Basic QWxhZGRpbjpvcGVuIHNlc2FtZQ==

This authentication needs both the user email address and password to be encoded, as in the following example:

encode('<email@address.com>:<password>')
