The Fluid Topics publishing profile can be used with its default settings, only on condition that all files and objects mentioned in this documentation have been placed in their appropriate locations. If it is not the case, please customize the publishing profile accordingly.

Author-it exports are fully managed by the CMS itself.

  1. Select the content to export from Author-it:

    Select the content to export
  2. Click the Publish tab.
  3. In "Publish To", click the XML icon.
  4. Choose the publishing profile previously created in the scroll-down menu:

Select a publishing profile to export the content
  5. Select the metadata corresponding to the variant you wish to export:

Note: If several values are available for a metadata element, select the appropriate one in the drop-down list.
  6. Click OK to start the export.
The Publishing Complete window opens up.
  7. Click Open Folder to access the export files:

The Publishing Complete window shows details about the last publish job
  8. Upload the $BOOK_FILENAME.zip file available in the folder to Fluid Topics.

All export files are gathered in the same directory
The ZIP archive takes the name of the Author-it book file. For instance, the book named The Lion results in the The Lion.xml.zip file.
Repeat the same procedure for each publication you wish to export.
  • If you use the Cloud version of Author-it, an email is sent to you when the upload is done. It contains a link to download the publication to upload it on Fluid Topics (either using the Web Services or the Publish Interface ).
  • If you use the On-Premises version of Author-it, the publication result is available in the configurable directory.
Note: To publish on Fluid Topics, make sure the AuthoritMagellan source is created in Fluid Topics.
