FTML (Fluid Topics Markup Language) is a proprietary format used to aggregate HTML content, add metadata, and publish the result in the form of a document that is available to authorized users.

FTML content is composed of:

  • FTML Maps: an XML file defining the structure of the document and the applied metadata.
  • Topics: content components aggregated by a map.
  • Resources: any element other than a topic. Resources are stored in Fluid Topics and referenced by a topic or a map (PDF files, image files, video files, etc.).
  • Control File: separate XML file used to execute operations on the FTML content.
