To add metadata to an FTML map that has already been processed, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a Control File.
  2. In the @ft:originID attribute of the ft:khubItem element, use the identifier of the FTML map to be modified.
  3. Add the ft:metas element corresponding to the metadata to apply.
  4. Prepare an archive containing the control file and the FTML map and topics.
  5. Upload the control file.

If the original FTML map already had metadata, the metadata entered in the control file will always take priority.

Except for the originId used to define the object that will be modified by the control file, all parameters set in the control file fully replace existing parameters.

Example

To add the metadata Product=Fluid Topics to the Hello World technical note, whose identifier is hello, upload the following control file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ft:controlFile xmlns:ft="http://ref.fluidtopics.com/v3/ft#">
<ft:khubItems>
<ft:khubItem type="map" ft:originID="hello">
<ft:metas>
<ft:meta key="Product">Fluid Topics</ft:meta>
</ft:metas>
</ft:khubItem>
</ft:khubItems>
</ft:controlFile>
