The NOT operator is used to remove an element from a given query.

The operator is case sensitive. If written in lower case, it will be considered as a normal keyword.

Example:

The NOT operator can be used as follows: "A term" NOT "B term".

  • Searching for Query Engine returns 146 results.
  • Searching for Query NOT Engine returns 628 results. This query returns all results containing the term "query" but where the term "engine" is missing.
  • Searching for Engine NOT Query returns 43 results. This query returns all results containing the term "engine" but where the term "query" is missing.
