Visual nested lists do not translate into nested lists in HTML.

In some Word files, nested lists are made by using styles and not by using Word's nested list feature.

For example, a list contains some items with dots and other items with numbers. Paragraph indentation is applied to the numbered items that makes them visually appear as sub-list items, although strictly speaking, they are not sub-list items.

In this case, the Microsoft-word connector is not able to create the sub-list, and the list appears as follows:

  • list item 1
  • list item 2
  • list item 3
  • list item 4
  • list item 5
  • list item 6

instead of as follows:

  • list item 1
  • list item 2
  • list item 2.1
  • list item 2.2
  • list item 2.3
  • list item 3
