Search Session - AFS

AFS Integration Guide

Reference Guide

When a user interacts with an AFS v7 search service, a query is submitted to find the needed information. Facets may be used to filter and refine the results. Some replies may be clicked. The paging mechanism may be used to browse through reply pages. When needed, the user may even decide to change keywords and submit another query. The process may be performed on and on until the outcome is satisfying.

Once the information is found, the user generally uses the corresponding data (for example, visiting the target page or opening the document) and stops using the search engine for a while — bringing an end to the search session.

A search session can be defined as a set of user interactions with AFS v7 relative to finding specific information.
