AFS identifies the source address used in a query by analyzing the characteristics of the TCP connection. This address can be overridden by calling parameter afs:ip. It is very interesting to propagate this information to AFS. AFS use them for statistical purposes, particularly to automatically detect the locations from where the web site is used. If this information is not propagated then:
- users location associated statistics will not be displayed in the Back Office,
- preventing host addresses abusive users from accessing to search domain will not be available.
