If a PaF does not specify any language, all documents will have french as associated language.
In this case, language association never fails.

If a PaF specifies a language in its configuration file, all document will have the specified language as associated language.

Language specification is done in the $AFS7/conf/conf.xml file, like the example below, or thanks to the configuration application of the AFS Back Office:
