An Antidot product package contains one or more software components offering a specific service. A package is a consistent set, containing binary files, libraries, and everything (configuration file, scripts) required for a correct behavior.

A package P may depends of other packages P1…Pn. This relationship means that:

  • P1…Pn must be installed before P, and P execution relies on P1…Pn
  • When one of the Pn is uninstalled, P is also uninstalled.

The mechanism guarantees the stability and the consistency of the system.
